Things I would love to see implemented in Twitter

Option to filter retweets by >n people that you follow.

Rarely do I care what a single person I’m following retweets, specifically the more internet-famous.

Number of stars (option of showing small icons of first 10 or 20 users) for your tweets. (Favrd style)

I’m not suggesting that Twitter implement a feature that would emulate Favrd in the sense that there would be leaderboards or the ability to filter your following feed by tweets with more than 3 stars. I just want to be able to see who’s starring my tweets, without others being able to see, for my own information, without the use of a third party web application.

Twitter has a reputation for taking their users’ ideas and implementing them as official features. If we’ve appropriated the vague star system to be a “liking” feature, rather than a “bookmarking” feature, then it would make sense that Twitter should allow us the interactivity of seeing who’s starring your tweets.

Translation Failure

My most recent 8tracks mixtape was reblogged with the following comment:

“Ganz ehrlich gesagt, kann ich nicht wesentlich mehr dazu sagen als, ICH MAG DIESES MIXTAPE!”

Google Translate:

“Quite frankly, I can not say much more about this than I MAY THIS MIXTAPE!”

Either way, thanks for listening.

butt-cake, The Final Chapter.

Last night, after walking my girlfriend to her car, I was smoking a cigarette in front of my apartment. I noticed a guy out on his balcony across the street, so I went over and asked if anyone in his building was missing a cat. It turns out that butt-cake is his neighbor’s cat, so she’s finally back home.

The end.

What I Did Today

  • I emailed a bunch of people
  • I called a couple of people
  • I left a few voice mails
  • I spoke with a polite woman from Delaware about someone’s address
  • I made sure your houses don’t burn to the ground while the firetruck is somewhere else
  • I successfully started switching over to a SQLite DB from an INI file for the GUI that I built in AHK to automate my job

The last one was the highlight of my day, and 99.9% of the people I talk to, in person, won’t care.
